Yuriy Shevchuk Yuriy Shevchuk is an artist best known for his collaborations with the film Ford v Ferrari and the Shelby American Collection Museum in Boulder, Colorado In 2019, his artwork appeared in the film directed by James Mangold and starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale One of his paintings was featured in a key scene with the Ferrari 156 Sharknose wearing number 40 symbolically connected to the birth of the Ford GT40 which later won Le Mans four times in a row Another major project was a mural measuring 20 by 7,5 meters created for the Shelby American Collection The artwork is now a backdrop to original GT40 cars that raced at Le Mans between 1966 and 1968 Born in 1961 in Kyiv Ukraine Yuriy Shevchuk studied at Kyiv Art School and the Kyiv Architectural Academy In 1993 he moved to Prague Czech Republic where he continues to live and work He developed a distinctive style rooted in watercolor,pastel, oil and acrylic capturing the rhythm of jazz the soul of vintage cars and the atmosphere of historic cityscapes His approach is expressive emotional and focused on the spirit rather than the mechanics of each subject Yuriy is an associate member of the Pastel Society of America since 2007 His works are held in private and public collections around the world He is known for his mastery of light motion and character whether in music or motorsport With support from his wife Irina and son Denis Yuriy continues to explore the intersection of memory sound and speed His art reflects a lifelong passion for storytelling through color and movement
